How-To #6 Replacing your Fuel Filter

There has been some debate over variations in fuel filter types and hookup, be sure to double check your fuel filter to make sure its the correct one as here.

1. Unconnectt the negative cable on the battery.
 
2. CAUTION: The fuel system is under pressure. To avoid fuel spillage and the risk of personal injury or fire, it is necessary to relieve the fuel system pressure before disconnecting the fuel lines.
 
3. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to "How-to #7" section.
 
4. Remove the inlet/outlet fuel lines by moving the connector lock forward and pulling the hose off of the tube.
5.Pull the filter off of the retaining clamp.
6. Place the new fuel filter in the clamp and be sure to note the flow direction.
2. Connect the inlet/outlet lines. Secure the lines with the connector lock.
3. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
 
4. Check for leaks.
